The Power of healing with good food...

The Power of fasting 2 days from 5...

Everyone has the power of healing and living at optimum health. Are you using that power?

We’ve all heard the saying ‘You are what you eat’ but how many of us sit up and take note of the true meaning of this saying?

Even though there are countless studies that point to the direct impact of our diets on our health people still choose processed food from large corporate supermarkets, without knowing the background or content of that food. Not only does food have the ability to do damage to our gut and our immune system, but it also has the ability to heal and support our body in its natural processes.

Making dietary changes aren’t necessarily easy but the rewards are high especially if the reason is to cure or eliminate an illness.

The human body is in a constant delicate state of balance - we input food and expect our body to naturally digest and function. If we just give our bodies the chance to heal instead of battling with digestion and fighting the free radicals that surround us daily we may be able to strengthen our immune system to fight disease easier.

A short term fasting program can help our bodies to have time to heal. Fasting has been in the limelight lately and not without the science to back it up.  By fasting short term and limiting your intake of calories your body has the chance to put all effort into healing.  A sensible 2- 5 day approach seems to be what the science backs up, 5 days of normal sensible healthy eating followed by 2 days of fasting where you consume just 500-600 calories. Your body should feel lighter and your mind will be clearer and more alert. Don’t forget though every healthy eating regime needs to be done in moderation.

The truth of the matter is, in order to actually heal our body (yes, it is possible to heal our body even with autoimmune disease) we need to make our health and our diet a priority. It really is about everything we put in our body, and the many lifestyle choices that we make each day, each moment.
